Adolescent Structured Day Program

A therapeutic program for teens and young adults with cognitive challenges

The cognitive, behavior-based program acknowledges the unique needs created when merging of traumatic brain injury and the developmental needs of young people.  It uses group therapy and activities to assist teens and young adults to address issues in their lives, including: 

  • Social skills/life skills training
  • Anger and stress management
  • Relationships (building them, appropriate boundaries, etc.)
  • Communication skill-building
  • Understanding brain injury
  • Appropriate personal goal-setting
  • Developmental and social issues of this age and of traumatic brain injury

The program meets Wednesday afternoons: 3-5 p.m. during the school year; 1:30-3:30 p.m. during summer. In addition to group discussions, participants engage in peer socialization, and expression through art, music and crafts.
