Communicate at the Capitol

Thank You for Your Commitment to Community

Thank you for joining us Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at the Kelly Inn in St Paul and then at the State Capitol for our exciting annual day of advocacy on behalf of people with disabilities.

We had more than 170 people in attendance, who spoke with more than 40 legislators, and told their powerful personal stories about the challenges they face, and the virtue of the programs and services Courage Center provides.

The importance of the Communicate at the Capitol event cannot be understated. It is a crucial advocacy effort to spread the message of Courage Center, and provide awareness of the disability community.  Providing information on current legislative proposals, hearing the views and opinions of key legislators, and advocating face-to-face with policymakers is just the start. It is vital that we continue to speak to our elected officials and protect the programs and services essential to independence.

Check out our Make a Difference section and see how you can continue to advocate right up to the legislative session end May 17, 2010.
