ALS/Hrbek-Sing Program

Supporting Communication with Assistive Devices

This program is designed to meet the changing needs of people with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).  

If you have ALS and your physician or occupational/speech therapist determines that assitive technolgy would be beneficial to you -  and your insurance will not cover the expense - the Minnesota Chapter of the ALS Association, along with Courage Center, may be able to provide you with these items:

  • Augmentative communication equipment
  • Computer access equipment 
  • Environmental control devices [electronic aids to daily living, alternative ways to operate a television, turn on lights, fan, radio, etc.]
