Description:
Camp Health Care Assistants are responsible for health, medical and safety issues at camp under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.  Maintain all compliance requirements related to medical documentation.  Distribute medications to campers, check camper health and administer first aid.  Courage Camp Health Care Staff help provide exceptional quality outdoor and indoor experiences for campers with a focus on Courage Center’s mission of empowering people with physical disabilities to reach for their full potential in every aspect of life.

Major Responsibilities:

• Student or Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Experience, competence and sensitivity in working with people with disabilities and people of diverse races and cultures is a plus 
• Must have the ability to lift campers in care situations and push wheelchairs to participate in camp activities
• A sincere desire to work with people with disabilities 
• Strong organizational and communication skills
  

Communications:
An individual is expected to facilitate communications with clients, staff and visitors in all methods available to them:  American Sign Language, Oral English, written communication and use of communication devices.

Physical Demands:
1. The ability to assist with lifting a client and push wheelchairs
2. The physical stamina and ability to work and participate in all camp activities for a sustained period of time.
