Hours:Summer 2010Temporary/SeasonalDescription:The Program Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all issues related to daily programs, evening programs and special events. The Program Supervisor works as part of the Leadership team with the Cabin Supervisor and the Assistant Program Manager. He/she is accountable for the safe and successful implementation of all daily, evening and special programs. In general, the job consists of handling all immediate issues related to programs which do not require the direct attention of the Assistant Program Manager.Major Job Responsibilities:1. Integrated Planning and Budgeting: Before each session, review camper's applications and medical forms with the following staff: Cabin Supervisor, RN Supervisor, Food Service staff and Cabin Leaders. Before the beginning of each session, assist Cabin Supervisor with assisgning both campers and counselors to their respective cabins. 2. Strengthening the Culture of Excellence: Clear all special events and, where possible, assist in making these a success. 3. Recruiting, Retaining and Developing Staff: Assist Program Manager and Leadership staff with staff training and on-going training sessions. 4. Managing Departmental Operations: Responsible for day to day supervision of staff and campers on campus. Responsible for coordinating transportation of campers. 5. Quality Management: Conduct staff evaluations for Leadership staff. Conduct post-camp evaluations and recommendations. 6. Project Management: See that daily and evening program schedules are being executed. 7. Other: Oversee camp clean-up, assist in changeovers. Assist on the beach during swimming and aquatic activities Qualifications:Education/Work ExperienceRequired: Must be 25 years old have a college degree in outdoor recreation, leadership or related area 3 years of resident camp staff experiencePreferred: Experience working with people who have disabilitiesLicense/CertificationsRequired: Valid drivers licenseCommunications:An individual is expected to facilitate communications with clients, staff and visitors in all methods available to them: American Sign Language, Oral English, written communication and use of communication devices.
Physical Demands: 1. The ability to assist with lifting a client and push wheelchairs2. The physical stamina and ability to work and participate in all camp activities for a sustained period of time.
