Hours:Temporary coverage for the week of August 11th - 18th, 2010Temporary/SeasonalDescription:The Health Center Staff assist the Program Manager and leadership staff in monitoring and maintaining high standards of health and safety of all campers, staff and program participants. The Health Center Staff are responsible for the quality and accuracy of all health care delivered at camp. The scope of practice is determined by the Minnesota Board of Nursing.Major Responsibilities:1. Gather pertinent camper health information and organize the information to share with staff.2. Monitor camper and staff health needs daily3. Manager camper medication administration4. Ensure prompt and accurate documentation of cares and treatments delivered and guarantee proper maintenance of Health Center records.5. Provide training and ongoing instruction of staff members to perform necessary personal cares and medication administration6. Respond to emergent medical needs and deal with unforeseen health needs7. Answer staff questions and address concerns8. Maintain and manage inventory and order medical supplies for the Health Center and cabins with an awareness of budget and supply.9. Maintain a clean and organized health center environmentRequirements:Education/Work Experience Required: Preferred: Camp experienceLicense/CertificationsRequired: Current MN licensure as a Registered Nurse (BSN, BAN, or ADN) Current certification in CPR/BLSPreferred: CPR for the Professional Rescuer Communications:An individual is expected to facilitate communications with clients, staff and visitors in all methods available to them: American Sign Language, Oral English, written communication and use of communication devices.
Physical Demands: 1. The ability to assist with lifting a client and push wheelchairs2. The physical stamina and ability to work and participate in all camp activities for a sustained period of time.
