Courage Center is pleased to announce that it has received accreditation from the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). CARF is a private, nonprofit organization that promotes quality services for persons with disabilities and others in need of rehabilitation services. Courage Center first became accredited by CARF in 1983. The accreditation extends through June 2013.
To be accredited, Courage Center met an extensive list of standards in business and clinical practices, as well as the program areas of Outpatient Medical Rehabilitation Services for children and adults, Employment Services and Supported Living (ILS).

It is like receiving a gold star in our industry."
The report notes that Courage Center enjoys a reputation for providing quality rehabilitation services with employees who are fully engaged in the mission and values of the organization. "There is a sense of commitment to excellence that permeates Courage Center. The organization indicates that it is not sufficient to just be 'good,' ... it is always striving to be 'better.'"

CARF standards are developed and revised through a series of leadership panels, national advisory committees, focus groups and field reviews. Its standards development process provides opportunities for persons served and other stakeholders to be actively involved in developing CARF standards.
