Q.  Can I designate my gift to a specific area of Courage Center?
A.  Yes! If you have a specific program or area that holds a special interest for you, you can designate your donation and be assured that your gift will be used as you have requested. If you do not have a particular area in mind, unrestricted support is our greatest need.

Q.  Is my donation tax deductible?
A.
Courage Center is a nonprofit, 501C3 organization.  If you itemize your taxes, your donation is tax deductible.

Q.  How is my tax deduction determined?
A.  Generally, your charitable contribution deduction is the gross proceeds from the sale of your vehicle. If your vehicle is in good condition, Courage Center will work to get a gross proceeds from the sale of your vehicle close to the Kelley Blue Book Private Party Sale value.  If the vehicle sells for $500 or less, your deduction is whatever you feel the fair market value of the vehicle is at the time of donation up to $500.

There are exceptions in the case that Courage Center makes a repair to your vehicle or uses the vehicle in providing services.  In those cases, the fair market value of the vehicle at the time of donation can be used for tax purposes.

Q.  What condition must my vehicle be in to donate it?
A.   We prefer vehicles that are running and safe to drive.  However, if your vehicle is not in running condition, we would still like to have it!  Towing Information
