Courage Camps Marketing Recruitment Specialist

Purpose of this job:
To develop and implement the overall recruiting and marketing plan to meet business unit's needs and using resources reflecting best practices and trends in the industry.

1.     Integrated Planning and Budgeting: Submit proposals for new camp and recruitment programs to Department Director to include marketing,  implementation, approvals, budgeting and evaluation.  Provide periodic budget updates and advice regarding progress and concerns.

2.     Strengthening the Culture of Excellence: Develop and expand relationships with partners including schools and other service providers to improve quality of applicant pool and camp participation.  Represent Courage Center in the community at speaking engagements, recruiting events and development events to increase visibility of programs resulting in financial support and/or increased participations.  Seek opportunities to expand and develop all current Courage Center programs to maximize camper and participant experiences and to promote a positive public image.

3.     Recruiting and Retaining Staff:  Work in collaboration with Camping Department team, Marketing Communications and Human Resources to develop an annual marketing and recruitment strategy with the goal of increasing camper attendance and seasonal staff quality at all Courage Center Camps.     

4.     Managing Departmental Operations: Work in collaboration with Camping Department team, Marketing, Communications and Human Resources to develop effective recruitment materials in accordance with Courage Center Standards.    Foster relationships with Courage Center Development Officers and other program areas including but not limited to Sports and Recreation, Assistive Technology Human Resources and others.

5.     Quality Management: Maintain and expand contact opportunities with vested partners of Courage Center Camps such as alumni, campers and their families through the use of website, e-mail and blog.    

6.     Other: Participate in scheduled meetings as a member of the departments Leadership team 

 

Education/Work Experience

Required: Knowledge such as usually possessed by an individual with a Bachelor's degree in marketing/communications, outdoor education, or recreation management,   with a minimum of 4 years leadership experience in an outdoor recreation setting,  marketing or development in a non profit organization required. Demonstrated experience with social networking, multimedia and printed materials.  Demonstrated presentation and public speaking skills. Proven organizational skills and excellent writing ability.

Preferred: Leadership experience with organized summer camping for people who have disabilities preferred.  Experience, competence and sensitivity in working with people with physical disabilities and people or diverse races and cultures highly valuable. 

License/Certifications

Required: Valid Drivers License
