Derek LaBerge has been working as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) in a clinical rehab setting since 2003. He is registered as a practitioner in both Watsu and Shiatsu. He has studied advanced Shiatsu and adaptive Watsu (Watsu for people with severe joint mobility limitations). He also has training in myofacial release techniques.
The vast majority of Derek’s experience has been spent learning how to serve individuals who live with complicated physical or cognitive conditions, as well as individuals who happen to have a disability or two. He works with people who have spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, congenital disabilities and chronic pain conditions.
Derek also enjoys working with people who may have just slept in a funny way the night before, and now have a stiff neck and pain they want to go away.
