Six- to eight-week programs

Chalstrom’s Indoor Archery Center Mondays, spring & fall, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Archery experience preferred

All seasons, Woodland Community Center on Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m.-noon
RSI on Thursdays, 5:30-7 p.m.

Duluth YMCA
Assist YMCA instructors with one-on-one swim lessons for youth June-July and Nov.-Dec., 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Day Camp for youth with autism         
Lake Superior College
July 14–18, 9 a.m.–3 p.m.

Lakeside bike trail/Lakewalk.
Bike or roller blade with youth and adult participants.
Mondays, 6 p.m, June-July

Recreational Sailing
Park Point Boat launch
Tuesdays, 5:30 p.m., June–July
Sailing experience required.

UMD Aquatics Center on Park Point
Thursdays, 6:30 p.m., June thru August. 
Kayak experience required.

Ski programs

Spirit Mountain 
Tuesday/Thurday evenings, Jan. 21-March 13

Giant’s Ridge
Sundays, Jan 26-March 2

Mono Ski Madness Camp
Feb. 12–14, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
Spirit Mountain
Advanced ski skills required.

Special Events

Special events are great opportunities to volunteer as a group - school, church, work, or with your family and friends!  Minimum age is 15 years old.

Arrowhead Youth Games
Thursday, May 15, University of Minnesota Duluth Field House, 9 a.m.–2 p.m.  
350 youth from around the region with abilities of all kinds experience a fun spring field trip trying various activity stations run by volunteers.

Fishing Tournament
Saturday, June 14, Driftwood Estates, Fish Lake.  
Volunteer needs include planning committee members, boats/guides, pontoons/drivers, dock helpers, registration table/greeters, meal prep/serving/clean up and on shore help as needed.

Water Ski Clinic
Monday, Aug. 11, Pike Lake AAA Club. 
Volunteer needs include safety people to ride in boats, assistants in the water and on shore help with barbecue.

Shoot For Fun
Annual fundraiser Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014
Old Vermilion Trail Shooting Preserve Volunteer training on Friday night is required.  50 volunteers needed to run stations. Shooting experience is not necessary, but must be able to sit outdoors all day in any kind of weather.

Volunteers are needed to provide sports and recreation programs that serve youth and adults with physical disabilities and youth with autism.  Some volunteer positions require specific skills or experience. Training is also provided prior to all programs and events.
