Internships

Courage Center offers unpaid internships and clinical experiences for undergraduate, graduate and doctorate students. Internships or clinical experiences are defined as a hands-on field experience required to obtain your degree and school credit is earned. Affiliation Agreement contracts are required for all student placements between the college or university and Courage Center.

Sports Management Intern
Work with a internationally recognized sports and recreation program for people with disabilities. Assist both in the management and operation of the programs and delivery of individual programs. The internship can be credit-earning or non-credit earning.   Job description

Undergraduate Internships

Health Exercise Science
Credit-earning internship offered to students majoring in Health Exercise Science in an accredited college or university. We are accepting applications for summer semester 2012 for the Health Exercise Science internship. Applications are due no later than January 31, 2012.

Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
Credit-earning internship that meets the criteria for a clinical experience for students who are participating in an Associate of Arts degree physical therapy assistant program through an accredited technical college, college or university.

Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Credit-earning internship that meets the criteria for a clinical experience for students who are participating in an Associate of Arts degree occupational therapy assistant program through an accredited technical college, college or university.

Therapeutic Recreation
Credit-earning internship offered to students majoring in therapeutic recreation in an accredited College or University. Currently accepting applications for summer 2012, applications are due by February 28, 2011.

Public Affairs
Non-credit-earning internship offered to students who have an interest government and public affairs issues as related to disability and health care.

Development
Non-credit-earning internship offered to students who have an interest in philanthropy, prospect research and special events.

Volunteer Management
Non-credit-earning internship offered to students who have an interest in understanding volunteer management as it relates to disability and health care.

Undergraduate students who are interested in applying for a credit or non-credit earning internship are required to submit a completed intern application, resume and letter of intent outlining their goals for the internship.
