Melissa Shimek has been a part of Courage Center since June 2011, working with children and adults in the Aquatics Department. After a few months in Aquatics, she joined the ABLE program and is now currently splitting her time between the two departments. She loves having the opportunity to be a part of these two departments and to be able to see the great transformations people go through.
Prior to joining Courage Center, Shimek was a health and physical education teacher in Prior Lake, where she also enjoyed coaching basketball and softball at the various levels.
In her spare time, Shimek enjoys working out and staying active, but also loves spending time with her husband and newest family member, her puppy, Chewy.
