Office Skills Training

Training and assessment on computer, business skills and assistive technology are available at Courage Center locations in Golden Valley and Stillwater. We can also perform assessments and provide training at a person’s job site, home or school. Our Office Skills Training is customized to meet individual needs and goals, and can be adapted to fit a variety of learning styles.

Learning Office Skills - A Broad Curriculum

Curriculum ranges from basic keyboarding to training on a wide range of Microsoft Office products to more in-depth software for website development, database management, and many other applications. Training in the use of assistive technology is done in conjunction with Microsoft Office products.

Assistive Technology Assessments and Training

  • Hands-on assessment of technology needs and accommodations
  • Recommendations of assistive technology that best meets an individual’s needs
  • Resources for obtaining assistive hardware and software
  • Training on Naturally Speaking, Jaws, Zoom Text, Intellikeys, one-handed keyboarding and PDAs.

Office Skills Assessments and Training

  • Evaluate current keyboarding, data entry and computer skills
  • Windows Operating System training (XP and Vista)
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and PowerPoint training (2003 and 2007)
  • Internet access and e-mail training
  • Business writing and grammar
  • Soft skills and business etiquette.
  • Telephone testing and filing
