Speech Language Therapy for Children

Katie, a young client helped by speech therapy

Improving the ability to interact with others

Our speech language pathologists help children develop communication abilities and treat articulation, language, swallowing, and voice disorders. We use a team approach when evaluating or providing services for children. Speech therapists work with the family, the physician and other caregivers to optimize outcomes in clinic, home and  community environments. Our treatment plan is tailored for the specific needs of each and child and includes:

At Courage Center, we want children to be able to perform everyday activities in the best possible way.  Whether the issue is a hearing loss, difficulty with swallowing or balance, a disorder such as stuttering or delayed language or a voice problem, a person’s ability to learn and interact with others can be affected.

Our speech language pathologists can use many different techniques to help facilitate the best performance.  They also are well-versed in assistive technology and augmentative communication, offering ideas for low-tech to high-tech aides to assist children with speech, language and communication issues.
