A Program on Shattering Barriers - March 12

No Barriers USA and Courage Center are proud to partner to present a program on shattering barriers through technology.

Date: March 12, 2010
Time: 6:30 - 8 p.m.
Place: Courage Center Cafeteria - Golden Valley

If you have a disability or work with someone with a disability — you don’t want to miss this once in a lifetime opportunity!

Attendees will learn about assistive devices and equipment that help people with disabilities live more full and active lives; such as:

  • "BrainPort" - a device that may one day help blind people to “see.”
  • "PowerFoot" - a robotic prosthetic that allows the user to control the stiffness of their foot through their cell phone.
  • "One Off" - a mountain bike for wheelchair users

No Barriers is more than a name; it is the attitude of reaching out and finding ways to accomplish one's dreams, no matter what it takes. No Barriers is for all people, regardless of age, state of mind or physical condition. www.nobarriersusa.org  952.472.2400

Learn, be inspired and meet:

  • Mark Wellman - the first paraplegic athlete to climb the 3000-foot vertical face of El Capitan
  • Hugh Herr, Ph.D. - a Biomechanical Engineer and accomplished climber
