Speech/Language Therapy

Speech-language therapists work to improve communication skills in expressive language (speaking/writing), receptive language (listening/reading) and nonverbal communication (facial expression/gestures). They also work on swallowing problems and cognitive retraining to build skills in association, attention, memory, sequencing, problem solving and abstract verbal reasoning.

Helping with a wide range of communication issues

Speech and language problems may occur during early childhood, or arise during adulthood as the result of a disease, a stroke or traumatic brain injury. Courage Center provides therapy for all age groups, in our clinic and at home for special medical needs.  Common areas we address are:

  • Cognitive retraining
  • Swallowing and feeding problems
  • Speech and language development
  • Articulation problems
  • Information processing
  • Hearing deficits
  • Oral-motor problems

We also have programs that provide communication technology and/or treatment for some specific conditions.
