2014 Volunteer Opportunities in the Twin Cities
Share your soccer experience with wheelchair athletes, ages 7 to 18. Focus on teamwork, competition and wheelchair/ball drills.
Dates/times: Sundays, Sept 22–June 8, 12:45–3:15 p.m.
Location: Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute - Golden Valley Campus, gym
Coach competitive swimming to athletes with physical disabilities, ages 8 to 19. You will instruct swimmers in racing strokes and turns, race strategy, technique improvement and building endurance.
Dates/times: Sundays, Oct. 13 – June 1, 2:45-5:15 p.m., plus occasional swim meets
Location: Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute - Golden Valley Campus, first floor pool
Assist our participants in the winter sport of adapted curling. Players slide heavy granite “rocks” down a sheet of ice, aiming for a circular target. Expert instruction and equipment will be provided for you.
Dates/times: Sundays, Nov. 10 – April 27, 4:45–7:15 p.m.

This archery program features all levels of bow and arrow instruction for beginning, intermediate and advanced archers. Volunteers will help set up/take down equipment, assist participants with instruction and provide encouragement.

Sports Management Intern
This is an invitation to students to apply for a Sport Management Internship within the Sports and Recreation Department at Courage Center in Minneapolis, MN. Positions for this internship are available for fall, summer and spring semesters. However, the duration of your internship may vary depending on your academic requirements.
