Vision Coach

To address visual function, muscular coordination & neuromotor abililty

VISION COACH, a dynamic interactive system designed to promote and enhance visual function, muscular coordination and neuromotor abilities is available at Courage Center Forest Lake.

VISION COACH is a large interactive light board for children and adults with visual, attention and/or upper extremity impairments.

At Courage Center, VISION COACH is being used at our Forest Lake clinic to improve function for people with limitations resulting from stroke, brain injury, amputation, spinal cord injury, orthopedic injury, developmental delays and other neurological diagnoses.   It is also used with the pediatric population for visual attention, visual processing, reaction time, learning disabilities, coordination, reach and balance.

VISION COACH helps improve:

  • Eye skills (e.g., tracking, visual attention, anticipation)
  • Eye-hand coordination and reaction time
  • Peripheral visual awareness
  • Upper limb coordination

VISION COACH challenges the peripheral visual system, which is necessary to protect an individual from potential dangers in the environment.  Speed in searching the peripheral visual field helps ensure safety in driving and sport situations.

VISION COACH is used to treat motor impairments, to increase range of motion in the upper extremities, coordination and motor planning. It's also used to treat attention problems to improve both focus and multitasking.
