Courage Center recognizes that rehabilitation is a multi-faceted, complex process. Our goal is to provide a holistic rehabilitation effort that brings the best resources available to help each client address the physical, psychological, familial, vocational and societal issues related to their rehabilitation process.
Most clients with spinal cord injuries begin their rehabilitation in our inpatient transitional rehabilitation program. We provide the full continuum of services in the post-acute phase of rehabilitation, and focus on return to participation in home and community living.
The team that serves clients with spinal cord injuries comprises physical therapy, occupational therapy, social work/psychological counseling and a navigator to assist with initiation of services. Other consultants and treatment professionals are included on the team based on individual needs. Our client-centered services include:
Courage Center is a regional resource for spinal cord injury rehabilitation in the upper Midwest. Courage Center’s outpatient rehabilitation program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), and licensed as a Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation Facility (CORF).
From July 1, 2006 – Sept.30, 2007, Courage Center served 196 clients with spinal cord injury in therapy (inpatient and outpatient) and 237 in sports and recreation programs and wellness/fitness/aquatics programs.
